You must be referring to those RGB555 images in the ROM. They are oddly the only images using the RGB555 (and are unused). I've never tried to see what they'd look like though together, I guess just slightly higher res version of what's there heh, perhaps rendered from a scene with a bunch of jungle trees/ferns?
